Founder and CEO
Karin is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of P.K.W. Associates, Inc.. Under her guidance and leadership, the company has established a solid 30+ year legacy of success in serving the Washington, D.C.-Maryland-Virginia marketplace with professional IT and staff augmentation services.
Her executive responsibilities include overseeing the strategic direction of all marketing, sales, recruiting and operational functions of the organization. She establishes corporate policy; sets guidelines for the opening of new accounts, markets, and service offerings; and oversees the hiring, training and performance evaluation of technical and non-technical personnel.
Additionally, Karin is responsible for setting the strategic objectives and ethical standards of the organization. She ensures the company maintains its unwavering commitment to quality, its excellent reputation in the marketplace, and overall financial stability.
Karin has a great depth of Information Technology experience, encompassing all aspects of applications development, from programming to program management. Her proven ability to analyze complex relationships and provide clear solutions—as well as to coordinate and manage projects from initial requirements definition to final implementation—has been instrumental in helping clients succeed. She has previously served in program and project management roles in organizations from small businesses up to Fortune 500 companies.
Karin is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the University of Maryland University College, with a Graduate Level Certificate in Information Assurance and a M.S. Degree in Information Technology with an Information Assurance specialization.
S. Richard Peltz, Jr.
Director of Marketing
Rich is responsible for the direction and management of P.K.W. Associates’ sales efforts. He crafts strategic business development plans and establishes sales goals for the team. Rich also is responsible for generating new business, expanding existing accounts, and actively maintaining relationships with consultants, recruiters, and executive management.
A native Baltimorean, Rich is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and is an accomplished and respected IT executive. He has successfully expanded sales and services for multiple consulting organizations, and has over 30 years of experience in the industry.
After beginning his Information Technology career in the U.S. Army, Rich transitioned into technical and management roles for two major commercial organizations. He then held consulting and branch management positions with two top IT consulting firms, before joining P.K.W. Associates as Director of Marketing in 1993.
A member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals since 1986, Rich’s extensive technical background and interpersonal skills make him an invaluable member of the P.K.W. management team.
Carin V. Weiss
Director of Business Development
Carin serves as the Director of Business Development and is responsible for the creation of new business, existing account growth as well as, maintaining relationships with existing clients, consultants and management.
She is a graduate of Towson University and has been working in the Baltimore area since 2000. Carin has had a successful sales career in the Baltimore area with technology companies focused in services, software and hardware solutions.
Carin initially worked for P.K.W. in 2002 gaining experience as a technical recruiter and returned to the company in spring of 2013 to take on the role in Business Development. Carin’s experience of working with large and small clients, industry partners and staying on top of leading technical trends make her a value member of the P.K.W. management team.
Caroline B. Ullrich
Manager of Strategic Talent Acquisition and Certified Veteran Recruiter (CVR)
Caroline provides managerial oversight for all recruiting activities including coordination of outreach and networking events. Caroline joined P.K.W. in 2010 after a career in the customer service and retail industries.
Her passion to help people and her excellent communication skills make her a strong leader and the spearhead of our recruiting team. She also initiated the company’s social media presence.
On a day-to-day basis, Caroline manages the efforts of the company’s recruiting staff. She provides key oversight to all recruiting activities including candidate identification, candidate interaction, candidate pipelines, candidate interviews, résumé preparation, job template preparation, and candidate submissions to the client. She is also responsible for making sure appropriate company policies, procedures and proper paperwork are followed from candidate sourcing through the candidate hiring process.
In 2013, she created P.K.W.’s Veteran Outreach initiative and has since amplified it to include veteran oriented job fairs, employer panels, and discussion groups. She is also actively involved in local military transitional classes. In the fall of 2014, she became a Certified Veteran Recruiter, focusing on helping Veterans with their transition into the civilian workforce.
Marilyn C. Hines
Director of Personnel and Account Manager
Marilyn serves a dual role as P.K.W. Associates’ Director of Personnel and Account Manager. She is responsible for all personnel administration, as well as the day-to-day operation of P.K.W. Associates’ headquarters.
As Director of Personnel, Marilyn’s key responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervising of internal administrative personnel. She is responsible for new employee orientation, performance reviews and termination of employment. She also oversees the administration of the company’s payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and employee benefits.
In her role as Account Manager, Marilyn is responsible for key client management and support, which includes building relationships to maintain a steady stream of business for the company and assuring that all clients’ needs are met to attain total customer satisfaction. A team player with excellent administrative and communications skills, she provides quality assurance for each consulting engagement, acting as a liaison between the consultants and their respective client managers.
Previously, Marilyn served as P.K.W.’s Director of Recruiting and was responsible for the recruiting of technical consultants. She also previously managed P.K.W. data entry projects for major clients, which included interaction with the client, scheduling projects for the clerical staff, ensuring data accuracy, and managing project deadlines.
Marilyn joined P.K.W. Associates in 1993 and has experience in diverse roles with the company. Her excellent communication and people skills have proven instrumental in maintaining P.K.W. Associates’ long-term relationships with both clients and staff.
